Flowering plant named after Louis Antoine de Bougainville, an 18th century seafarer and explorer who discovered the genus in Brazil. No garden in South Florida is complete without at least one Bougainvillea for year-round color.

Highly recommend to plant with nursery pot intact to minimize transplant shock. Make 2-3 slits along the side of pot to allow drainage. At end of each bloom cycle, hard prune by one-half and feed with bougainvillea specific fertilizer to encourage new blooms.
