Alocasias come in all shapes, sizes and colors and are a favorite in South Florida for its design versatility in both outdoor and indoor gardens. Genus is native to the East Indies. Typical in stock varieties: African Mask, Boa, Borneo Giant, Calidora, Imperial Red, Kuching Mask, Lutea, Metallica, Odora, Portora, Purple Sword, Regal Shields, Stingray, Tiny Dancer, Variegated Green White and Yucatan Princess. Other novelties are available from time-to-time.

Best used as an anchor in a container garden mixed with other tropicals such as bromeliads or with seasonal flowers. Alocasias with smaller foliage are better for indoors unless high light and appropriate humidity are available for larger leaf species. Feed with a slow-release 14-14-14 granular fertilizer every three months to promote lush growth.
