Tecoma - Yellow Elder and Suntrumpets

National flower of the Bahamas, a flowering shrub or small tree with a cascading canopy. A South Florida and Caribbean native. Also available are the SunTrumpet hybrid cultivars with yellow and orange blooms.

Abundant yellow or orange flowers year-round, especially spring to summer.
A favorite of butterflies, pollinators and birds.
Tolerates light salt drift

Attracts Humming-birds

Plant as a background accent or specimen behind lower shrubs or perennials such as Red Firecracker, Clusia Petite Leaf, Regina Iris and Green Island Ficus. Feed with a slow-release 14-14-14 granular fertilizer every three months. Trim back periodically to keep in shape.
