A great alternative to the Schefflera for indoor and outdoor gardens. Native to southern Japan. The genus name is from 'fatsi' which is old Japanese for 'eight' (now 'hachi'), referring to the eight lobes of each leaf.

Watch this outstanding specie mature into an elegant and lush plant, either singly in a container or mixed with other tropicals such as Cordylines, Anthuriums, Gingers and Bromeliads. Feed with a slow-release 14-14-14 granular fertilizer every three months. Trim off any wilted foliage to maintain an attractive appearance. Repot with fresh soil and trim back after some time to rejuvenate.
