When young, use as a color accent in mixed container gardens, especially with purple, orange and deep pink flowers and purple foliage plants like Purple Queen and Persian Shield. Feed with a slow-release 14-14-14 granular fertilizer every three months. Hand prune hard at end of winter and again at early fall to promote the best growth habit in spring and fall. For best appearance, stems should be allowed to grow loose and not sheared like a hedge. Place plants minimum 3-4 feet apart when planting initially.
