Dieffenbachia - Dumb Cane Assorted Varieties

Various hybrid cultivars of a genus native to South America. Chewing of foliage causes temporary inability to speak, hence the moniker. Many varieties are available: Camille, Camouflage, Cool Beauty, Crocodile, Mars, Sterling, Tropic Snow and Vesuvius. Other novelties are also available from time-to-time.

Perfect as an indoor potted plant by a bright window or door. Can also be tucked in an outdoor shade garden with other shade-loving tropicals such as Ginger, Cordyline, Heliconia and Bromeliads. Feed with a slow-release 14-14-14 granular fertilizer every three months. Let top-half of soil dry out between watering, especially if indoors. Check periodically for scales, aphids and mealy bugs and treat with an insecticidal soap promptly.
